Christmas Day (like most days to be honest!) is always a good excuse to drag out the camera…and I’m so glad we dragged ourselves outside for a walk, and just managed to catch the last light of the day…

My three nieces…

Charlotte tells me she doesn’t wear dresses very often…doesn’t she look absolutely stunning…and how gorgeous is that light!

My sister Nean with gorgeous Charlotte, Charlie and Lauren have always been the best of friends….they picked some flowers…and some lilly pads…covered in green slime!

Two weeks away from our busy lives…time as a family. Just watching my boys wrestling with Grant, hanging over his shoulder, holding his hand…this is what holidays are all about.

These holidays we also did something special. For a quite some time I have wanted to have some photos taken of us, all together. I know, it must seem strange…but we don’t have photos of us as a family, well none with me in them anyway!

So I contacted one of my favourite SE Queensland photographers and she managed to fit us into her busy schedule. Fiona Carson is simply amazing…check us out on her blog! It was wonderful to meet her gorgeous family and spend a fabulous afternoon together. Fiona is available for family sessions in the Brisbane, Gold Coast and sunshine Coast areas…why not organise your family’s photographs while enjoying your Queensland holiday? A visit to Queensland always includes catching up with Grant’s family…the boys beloved ‘Pop and Debbie’.

This year was extra special with a family reunion to celebrate Grant’s sister’s 40th Birthday…Happy Birthday Nat!

AVAILABILITY UPDATE!

Firstly my apologies to everyone who has emailed me in the past few weeks hoping to have a session and photographs in time for Christmas. The process from booking your session to delivery of your prints is several weeks, and is generally not possible once we hit December. I am currently booked up for most of January…with a couple of sessions available for newborn babies…if booked in advance. Please don’t wait until your baby is a week or two old…as this is ideally when the session would take place. I am now taking bookings for February and beyond…so if you are thinking about updating your family portraits…book now for early 2010. Family and outdoor sessions during the Summer months would normally be held early in the morning, or late afternoon…to avoid the heat, and take advantage of the beautiful light!

Charlie loves Lucy. He always has. When Lucy was born she came to stay with us for a week or so with her Mummy, Elissa.

Charlie couldn’t keep his hands off her, couldn’t leave her alone, stop touching her face…he adored her…and he still does.

He still reminds me now and then (though not so often any more) that he wishes he had a baby sister…so I guess Lucy is the baby sister that he didn’t get!

We spent a glorious Sunday afternoon at the Belgium Beer cafe…look at the light…breathtaking:

We visited a local park and did some exploring…sadly it all ended ion tears when her nasty ‘Aunty Cazz’ stood her under a perfect pine tree which had some VERY sharp and nasty leaves that she sat on!

My day started with some extra time in bed with a cup of tea and toast , a read of the Sunday paper, breakfast cooked and cleaned up…and best of all…arms full of handmade written messages, pictures and glittering  jewels bought at the school ‘Mother’s Day’ stall…little things that money can’t buy!

Fresh flowers too…aren’t I spoilt?
